Almost half of 2023 has passed, so it’s time for a line-up of the most popular watches on Instagram. People have been scouring this social media site for the finest content that appears in their feed. Consider this an opportunity to appreciate some fascinating and unique timepieces arranged in the correct order. Before this, we will learn more about whether wearing a watch is obsolete, with all the smartphones and other devices that are attached to us at all times (get it?)
Are Watches Obsolete?
The purpose of watches has changed, and there are reasons why people wear them for more than checking the time. More and more people appreciate wearing elegant timepieces, and this somehow pushes them to learn about and appreciate the art of exquisite watchmaking. The watch has become an ornament and accessory rather than a timepiece. Here are some of the watches that may change your whole appearance while complementing your outfit.
Tissot Ettore Sottsass
Late in the 1980s, Tissot collaborated with Italian designer and architect Ettore Sottsass, who founded the Memphis Group, on the creation of this eccentric timepiece. The black-and-white dial with the hefty indices and hands is unlike any other.
Cartier Luxury Watch
The above-mentioned Cartier London was responsible for some of the most stylish watches in existence. Matthew Bain got his hands on this London-made Cartier watch created in collaboration with Bueche Girod. People love the script, the crimson numerals, and the substitution of 13 to 24 o’clock markers for the conventional 1 to 12 o’clock markers. People also love the inference that this is a party watch – a timepiece designed for individuals who only need the second half of the day to be timed. It’s an unbelievable watch!
Tag Heuer Formula 1
Fans of watches would know that Nicholas Biebuyck, the director of Tag Heuer’s heritage, has the finest Formula 1 watch. This particular version was created for the Japanese Formula 1 driver, Ukyo Katayama. Red was used for the band, yellow for the case, blue for the dial, green for the bezel, and peach for the hour markers. Biebuyck wrote that it has the greatest variety of hues. Also, Katayama’s signature is inscribed directly on the sapphire, as if this was not bizarre enough. Vroom, vroom!
Cartier Double Strap
This watch is so powerful that needs two wrist straps to utilize its power. John Goldberger, mega collector and author, is working on a book about Cartier London, the division of the company renowned for its eccentric designs such as the Pebble and Crash.
